This mud Kasbah had two floors and was surrounded by an enclosure wall that also included several annexes, like stables, a garden, Meshui ovens and a Riad for accommodating guests.

Hotel Tomboctou offers fourteen very comfortable and charming rooms inside the Kasbah of Sheikh Bassou. They are all air conditioned and equipped with bathrooms and central heating.

The rooms have been adapted to the structure of the Kasbah, which has been respected absolutely. Each room is, therefore, different. Moreover, each one has been named after one stage of the ancient caravan routes that crossed the desert to get to Timbuktu and has been decorated in the style of that respective stage.
